The F series used our revolutionary hydrofoil technology lifting the craft out of the water to removes allow high speed efficient electrial propulsion. When foiling in optimal conditions a sustained crusing speed of 60kn is possible.

Project Background

I took the opportunity to take part in the annual Polestar Design Contest, if only to see how my skills and workflows have evolved over the last 4 years. This year's prompt was to design a hot wheels toy, and while that was fun in itself I wanted to push it a bit further and design a new cross-section illustration.

I picked a Candela x Polestar crossover given I am such a huge fan of both brands to create a performance hydrofoiling yacht. This model is self sailing with autonomous navigation and docking.

I created everything from the superstructure up, wiring plumbing, flooring interior and exterior, then cut it away to see through inside.

Everything was built in Blender with textures and materials from Substance 3D. The characters and some of the greebles are from various packs.
